Billing Specialist Position: Billing Specialist FLSA: Full-Time The Billing Specialist is accountable and responsible in assisting with the revenue cycle of the practice. Your responsibilities will include managing insurance communications, reconciling insurance EOBs and payments, posting insurance and patient payments, and verifying insurance. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and great customer service skills. Roles and Responsibilities • Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and fellow employees via phone, email, and other channels, such as Microsoft Teams. • Analyze insurance EOBs to ensure correct payment for all procedures. • Process and post insurance payments promptly. • Submit insurance claims to payers in a timely manner, adhering to compliance regulations. • Ensure compliance with relevant state and federal agencies. • Ensure quality and productivity standards are met or exceeded. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements • Proficient in typing and Basic computer literacy • Experience with practice management software • Customer service experience • Experience in Ophthalmology is a plus! Preferred Skills • Knowledge and understanding of health insurance benefit plans, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance • Flexibility to adjust schedule when needed • Ability to work with a team and possibly go to other locations Job Type: Full-time M-F 8:30am - 5:30pm This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is: • Dependable more reliable than spontaneous • People-oriented enjoys interacting with people and working as a team • Adaptable/flexible enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction • Detail-oriented - consistently focused on details rather than the big picture • Autonomous/Independent enjoys working with little direction Travel Requirement Travel to and between practice locations may be required to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities of the job. Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods, as well as frequent keyboarding, telephone communication, occasional walking within the office, and travel between practice locations as needed.
