$65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience POSITION OVERVIEW Magna Talent is recruiting an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager for an established independent insurance agency in Winchester, Virginia. We're seeking a Property & Casualty insurance professional with at least 5 years of relevant insurance industry experience who can manage commercial accounts, develop client relationships, and provide prompt, professional service. The ideal candidate has experience working with commercial insurance policies, renewals, carrier submissions, coverage reviews, endorsements, certificates of insurance, and ongoing account servicing. This position offers the opportunity to manage an assigned book of business, collaborate with experienced insurance producers, and advance professionally based on experience and expertise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage and develop relationships with assigned commercial insurance clients. - Service an assigned book of commercial P&C accounts. - Review client coverage, identify potential exposures, and recommend appropriate insurance solutions. - Prepare insurance applications and submit them to eligible carriers. - Coordinate new business quotations, renewals, and remarketing. - Issue and review certificates of insurance, binders, endorsements, and policy documents. - Verify policies and policy changes for accuracy. - Prepare insurance summaries, proposals, and coverage schedules. - Process policy cancellations, billing inquiries, and account changes. - Review policy audits and coordinate corrections with carriers and clients. - Assist clients with claims submissions and follow up on claim status. - Work closely with producers, account managers, and client service representatives. - Identify opportunities for additional lines of insurance coverage. - Maintain accurate account records and meet department service standards. - Stay current on commercial insurance products, underwriting practices, carrier updates, and industry regulations. REQUIREMENTS - Minimum 5 years of relevant Property & Casualty insurance industry experience. - Commercial lines account management or commercial insurance servicing experience. - Active Property & Casualty insurance license in good standing, or ability to reinstate within 30 days of employment. - Experience handling commercial insurance renewals, applications, endorsements, certificates, and carrier communications. - Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverage and underwriting procedures. - Ability to manage multiple client accounts and competing priorities. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management. - Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and insurance agency management systems. - Valid driver's license. - Ability to work full-time from the Winchester, Virginia office. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working in an independent insurance agency or brokerage. - 7+ years of commercial P&C experience for candidates managing larger or more complex books of business. - 10+ years of experience and specialized industry knowledge for senior-level account management responsibilities. - Industry designations such as CIC, CISR, or CPCU. - At least 2 years of completed college coursework. - Experience managing an established commercial insurance book independently. - Strong client retention and relationship management experience. WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a full-time, office-based position in Winchester, Virginia. The Commercial Lines Account Manager works closely with insurance producers, client service agents, and other account managers in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. Occasional local travel may be required for training, community events, or agency initiatives.
