Field Service Technician (75% Travel)

STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced Field Service Technician in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to support our clients with equipment diagnostics, repair, and maintenance. As a Field Service Technician, you will work independently in a fast-paced environment, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing essential maintenance on generators, engines, and related equipment. This role requires up to 75% travel within the assigned area, offering a unique opportunity for hands-on work and customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, including load banking and analyzing voltage requirements, in an efficient and timely manner.

Customer Training & Support

Educate customers on the use of equipment and explain the benefits of services provided.

Communication with Dispatch

Keep Dispatch updated throughout the day on service progress and next assignments.

Record-Keeping & Inventory Management

Maintain accurate records of services performed, mileage, expenses, and billable hours; manage associated equipment and inventory.

Safety Compliance

Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications Experience

2+ years of experience in electrical work, repair, installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting of generators, engines, or similar equipment is preferred.

Skills

Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently diagnose equipment errors.

Driver's License

Must maintain a valid driver's license to travel to customer locations.

Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

Travel
